When was BBA's first season?
It seems from in-game records, it is 1995? Am I right in guessing that? But then I stumbled upon Long Chamberlain...who did quite well with the long ball in his day. It shows that he played from 1983 to 1994 but for a BBA team and I didn't quite now how that worked? Were seasons before 1995 done to fill up minor leagues maybe?
Edit to add: Actually, on stats+ it shows that he played for no team in the BBA in that time, but in the game the three letter team abbreviation shows "JAX", maybe for Jacksonville.

Thank you! How I love that CatoBase. So, I'm thinking I should use the CatoBase for viewing league history from 1973 to 1994 and then the game itself from 1995 on?

We have several places to draw history from. Those two...the html histories (same as the game) ... the Unified Database that Stephen maintains.

I was trying to educate myself a little on the history of the league. The Stats+ history is a little limited, but at least from 1995 on, the standings seem accessible in the game. Is the Unified Database the 'History' link with the google doc at the top of the forum?

Ah, yes, Stats+ is there, too. And Randy/Chris's HoF stuff.
And, yes. That's it. Ultimately, we're big enough that you have to just get familiar with what tool to use for any specific question.

Re: When was BBA's first season?
I'm sure as I keep poking around more, I'll stumble upon the HoF stuff. I did take a peek in the Hall of Fame in the game and that was entertaining. But I think between the in-game information of which there is plenty and the pre-1995 CatoBase, that should tide me over for my BBA history education for a long while!

Re: When was BBA's first season?
the tricky thing (as i am discovering) is that HTML and the game do not always matchup, especially when it comes to WAR numbers...
