The penalty is pretty severe if you go over, I believe if you spend 2 million it actually cost you 4 mill or something like that. The challenge for someone like myself is because that penalty is so severe it impacts my ability to acquire talent for the big club at the same time due to my budget. Teams that have a large budget certainly have an advantage but those same teams are probably drafting lower in the 1st round so it evens out i guess.

Just spend right to the cap and try and be profitable so you can increase budget with bonus funds with PP. Not looking at it right now, but when I took over Edmonton I remember them having a pretty limiting budget too. It helps winning the Landis too I guess.

These are things about OOTP that require a tad bit of patience in bringing teams up the curve. Go too fast and you're perpetually cycling up and down.

On the other hand, boom and bust can be kind of fun, too. And it's good to remember that the goal is fun.

Lol I'm a big fan of the boom and bust. As long as the boom is a Landis. Hate losing in the Cartright. We'll see how it goes letting my outfield run away early and turning it over to some young kids.

Anything over the $1M. So if you spend $2M, it's the first $1M plus the remaining money you spent, in this case $1M, *2 to equal $3M.

I screwed Madison’s up repeatedly but I think I’m getting better. already bumped Portland’s up $4 million from last year and the “way too early projection for 2042” has Portland up another $10 million.
