Charm City Devastated by Playoff Elimination
At times during the season, it seemed like the Charm City Jimmies might put together a promising campaign, but it was not to be. Today, the Charm City Jimmies are left waiting for next year after being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

The Jimmies have missed the playoffs 7 times in their 11 years as a Brewster Baseball Association franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 6th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2033. In the last 10 seasons, the Jimmies have missed the playoffs 6 times.

Mounties Come up Short of Playoffs
Looking at the bigger picture, Ángel González of the Vancouver Mounties said he's excited for what's to come in the years ahead for his squad. But in the present, he said, the club is quite disappointed with the realization today that they are now mathematically out of playoff contention for the 2040 season.

The Mounties have missed the playoffs 27 times in their 45 years as a Brewster Baseball Association franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 9th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2030. Vancouver last won the Landis Memorial Series in 2000.

With a record of 91-69, the Jacksonville Hurricanes have guaranteed themselves a spot in the postseason.

The fate of the Johnson League Atlantic Division crown remains officially undecided at the moment, but the Hurricanes have the upper hand on getting it clinched.

No Late-Season Magic Coming: Phoenix Out of Playoffs
It evidently wasn't meant to be for the Phoenix Talons in 2040. Despite being relevant in the playoff race down the stretch, the team has fallen short of qualifying and will watch the postseason from the sidelines.

Before this season, the Talons last missed the playoffs in 2036. In the 11 years they have been a Brewster Baseball Association franchise, they have missed the playoffs 7 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 6 times.

Wild Card Clinched by Pioneers
The manager of the Calgary Pioneers is reminding the city of Calgary to "keep the faith" as the team heads into the playoffs as a wild card team.

"We believe in ourselves and we need our fans to believe in us too," said Terry Cochran. "We know we can get Calgary rocking with a great run in the playoffs."

It remains to be seen just how deep the Pioneers will be able to go in the playoffs, but confidence appears to be high.

"We've got the team to win a championship, I firmly believe that," said starting pitcher Jefferson Pierce.

If the team is successful, it would be the 3rd Brewster Baseball Association championship in franchise history.

Surfers Celebrate Wild Card Win
The Long Beach Surfers may not go on to win a Landis Memorial Series, but the team celebrated like they had won a championship tonight after securing a wild card spot.

"We were definitely feeling the pressure. To go so late into the season and not know whether you're going to make the playoffs or not, it's intense. That's why you're seeing such an excited reaction," said starting pitcher Danya Tchekanov. "All our guys I think are just relieved that we made it after all that."

It did indeed take a tough battle and with their record at 88-73, the Surfers will now look to bring the 2nd Landis Memorial Series championship to Long Beach.

Pikemen Win Tight Johnson League Atlantic Division Race
It's official! The Rockville Pikemen have secured the top spot in the Johnson League Atlantic Division. Rockville's manager Duane Whitley was quick to give credit to his players.

"They believed in this team all year, and never gave up."

It won't be an easy road for Rockville as they try to compete for their 5th Landis Memorial Series victory. They have to hope that their success will translate to the post-season, which is certainly not always the case. This was the 16th division title for the team.

The San Fernando Bears are heading to the playoffs.

While they couldn't win the Frick League Pacific Division, they will nonetheless get the opportunity to play for the franchise's 2nd Landis Memorial Series.

"Don't overlook us as a wild card team, that's all I'll say," said starting pitcher Knud Zeitler.

That confidence and swagger has been characteristic of the Bears this season, with many feeling they are better than their 86-76 record indicates.

It's off to the playoffs for the Manama Pearls.

With their record at 74-84, the club has officially locked up a postseason spot.

"It's really exciting to get the chance to play in the postseason," said starting pitcher Rubén Núñez. "It's a good time to be a member of the Pearls, that's for sure."
