Louisville Goes Crazy Over Team's Playoff Birth
After years of watching postseasons from the sidelines, the Louisville today finally punched their ticket to the playoffs. Fans of the Louisville Sluggers were ecstatic; so much that some even took to the streets. Some streets in downtown Louisville had to be blocked off by police in order for the fans to stay safe.

"It's a dream come true," said one loyal fan. "I've been watching this team come together throughout the year, and even with our ups and downs, I feel like the team we have really has what it takes to win it all." Another fan said, "This team is one of the best I've seen for us. I can't wait to be able to see them in the playoffs representing the city."

No injuries occurred throughout the night, and though team officials were critical of their means, the officials were happy with the showing of the fans.

The Math Says - Aztecs Out of Playoffs
The playoff hopes of the Mexico City Aztecs have been extinguished for the year. Today, the team was mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the 2040 postseason.

"It's weird, yesterday we were all talking about what we needed to do to make it to the Landis Memorial Series and now we're just counting down the days until the offseason, said Aztecs starting pitcher Denis Pham.

Before this season, the Aztecs last missed the playoffs in 2034. In the 45 years they have been a Brewster Baseball Association franchise, they have missed the playoffs 27 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 5 times.

Postseason Bid Ends for Chicago
The Chicago Black Sox may still need a piece or two before becoming championship material in Brewster Baseball Association. The team has fallen short of its playoff goals this year, being officially eliminated from the playoffs today.

"I feel like we have a great group," Black Sox manager Bret Richards said. "We happened to come up short or our goal, though. We'll re-tool and be back stronger next season."

This is the club's 9th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2031. In the last 10 seasons, the Black Sox have missed the playoffs 7 times. In total, the Black Sox have missed the playoffs 28 times in their 45-year history. Chicago has won the Landis Memorial Series 4 times in their history.

Johnson League Frontier Division Champions Crowned
Edmonton Jackrabbits fans have reason to celebrate today, as their franchise is the class of the Johnson League Frontier Division.

With their record standing at 104-51, the club officially wrapped up the division title today, for the 3rd time. Manager Juan Carlos Gonzáles said everyone on their roster is looking forward to the postseason and trying to capture the club's 2nd championship.

"That's what you dream about your whole life," Gonzáles said.

Closer Jorge Huerta added that it's a great feeling to win the division, but said ultimately, a Landis Memorial Series victory is what will mark success for the club.

Crusaders Clinch Playoff Spot With Victory
Today, California have officially claimed a spot in this year's postseason. The team punched their playoff ticket with a win yesterday. "I couldn't be prouder of this team," said skipper, Alberto Franco. "These guys worked their tails off all season long, so they've definitely earned this." However, the Crusaders manager says he won't let his team rest on their laurels. "We've still got a long way to go to reach our ultimate goal and that's a championship trophy. So we're gonna celebrate and just let this all sink in tonight, but it's back to work tomorrow."

The 2040 playoffs will include the Rockville Pikemen.

Omaha Captures Wild Card
If the Omaha Hawks want to bring the franchise its 1st championship, they will have to do it as the wild card.

The Hawks officially clinched their postseason berth today and are now looking forward to the challenge of the playoffs.

"It's not going to be easy, but nothing worth doing in life ever is," said starting pitcher José Lima. "As badly as we want to win, there's plenty of other Brewster Baseball Association teams out there who feel the same way and want the same thing."

California Wins Top Spot in Frick League Pacific Division
Members of the California Crusaders say winning the Frick League Pacific Division title is special, but ultimately they will only be remembered with a championship season.

"We want to put ourselves in the history books and win the Landis Memorial Series," said first baseman Cheng-ho Ji. "We all believe it can happen, it's just a matter of putting in the hard work and getting the breaks."

It's the 14th division win for the club and they will be vying for their 4th Landis Memorial Series win.

"To see the team get here, it makes you believe in yourself and all the systems you've put in place," said manager Alberto Franco.

Career Over -- José Chávez Retires
José Chávez said he's incredibly grateful for getting a chance to play with the Manama Pearls organization, but this season will be his last.

"I'm extremely loyal to the team, but that's why I have to walk away. I think there's probably someone younger and better who can come in and take my spot," the 38-year-old said. "I'm grateful for all the opportunities I've gotten in pro ball."

Chávez has accumulated a 9-13 lifetime record. He has 93 strikeouts in 169.2 innings and has made 49 appearances, recording 0 career saves and putting up a 4.77 ERA.
