As you might guess by the Feature I posted earlier today, I've gone off into a rabbit hole this afternoon as I started looking at base running. Mostly, I've spent the day revising my script to look for players advancing bases successfully, and I'm thinking I'm getting close (I still need to figure out how to find guys successfully stretching singles to doubles and doubles to triples...not sure I'll find that, but I'm looking). Anyway, I have convinced myself I've got the right data for runners advancing or getting thrown out when tagging up to various bases.
When I'm done, I'm sure I'll post a report on the whole thing by team (it's pretty interesting, even if I'm not sure what to do with it), but in the meantime here's a simple overview of how well "tagging up" has worked in the BBA through the first two months of the season in 2040.
