BBA Landis Trophy Chatter/Voting
TL:DR For those not on slack, you have missed the conversation, but I am considering purchasing a customized engraved trophy to the Landis winner each year.
Obviously, we want this to be something that you store and showcase proudly throughout your office, home, or in the case of Shoeless on his nightstand so his wife knows he is the champ at, at least, something.
With that being the case, I think it’s something we should vote on as a group to determine the best-looking design idea. I have spent the afternoon at work surfing the internet for decent ideas(rather than save the newspaper industry) and came up with the following ideas below.
Please vote by commenting on this post in the order that you would rank these trophies. I have lettered them, rather than numbered them in order to avoid confusion. We will base votes on the same weighted system that the MLB uses for awards.
First place gets 14 points, second place gets 9 points, third gets 8, and so forth all the way down to 1.
It looks like this... 14-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.
Voting ends on 10/31/19, although it shouldn't take this long.
Anybody who is in the BBA or a former member of the BBA and lurks around may vote.
I will be voting and posting my votes separately in this thread.
As a side note, there is conversation about a potential second trophy as well to the Landis loser, but let’s figure out what the winner of the Landis Memorial Series gets first.
Also, Anybody who wants to help donate for the trophy, I would rather have you donate to Matt to help with the costs of this league.
Now onto our options:(Please note Option H is a bobblehead)
Option A
Option B
Option C
Option D
Option E

Great idea. I vote for E or J and will donate enough to cover the 2026 winners hardware and shipping as long as it's reasonable.
I'll do whole voting when I'm not driving.

Re: BBA Landis Trophy Chatter/Voting
I do like E and J, and the bobblehead (H). I'd rank them
E = H
J
We could also consider a custom bobblehead--maybe a Recte Bobblehead, complete with BBA logo. Those are a little pricey, though.

Not really my thing. If I win it, I’ll let The landis loser have it. Ya know, just for fun.

Awesome idea - I like F just for the fact u can drink a beer out of it. I have a trophy I won in for a corn hole tourney last year to support to local HS basketball team. Took it to the local brewery and drank a beer out of it. It’s sitting on the bookcase in our bedroom.

Re: BBA Landis Trophy Chatter/Voting
For those interested in how the voting is going...Here is a google spreadsheet that I will keep up to date. Note, if you didn't vote correctly I haven't added your votes in yet as I am waiting for you to rank all 10. A list of who's votes are counted is to the right of the sheet.

Ultimately, the more I think about it the more I think that if we do something like this, it should be a true traveling trophy and something less formal and more fun. I kind of like the idea of one of those small mini-bats you can get at the Louisville Slugger museum. They cost like 20 bucks, and we could personalize the inscription. Something like:
BREWSTER BASEBALL ASSOCIATION
ETERNAL BAT OF CHAMPIONS
LANDIS MEMORIAL SERIES WINNER
The current champion should get a Sharpie and sign it, along with their season, and then pass it to the new winner whenever it passes to them. We could also ask that the defending champion take a selfie with it, and post it on the forum upon receipt. Perhaps Stephen could even incorporate it into the Unified History.

Re: BBA Landis Trophy Chatter/Voting
My only real issue with this is that it would have a Loserville Slugger brand.
