It depends where they played I guess. High School players wouldn't.

I think High Schoolers who don't sign should not become eligible until they are college juniors.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
So we either sign these scrubs or have a 100+ picks in the first couple rounds of next year's draft lol. Either way it'll be pretty rough especially if next year's class doesn't get any better. This might go auto by the time it gets to me in round one. I don't even see any hidden gems.

So, politely,
The hell is this shit?
I get rebalancing, but I'm pretty sure this is what BBA players might look like after thermonuclear war.
Rockville passes.

This is probably a good time to remind everyone that if you have a compensation pick for not signing a guy last year, that pick will NOT roll over to next year if you don't sign the player this year.

i mean, you could always choose to just save the money but ya do not pass thinking you will get another pick next year for it.handaspencer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 10:53 amSo I guess I will at least be signing 1 guy this yearusnspecialist wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 10:36 amThis is probably a good time to remind everyone that if you have a compensation pick for not signing a guy last year, that pick will NOT roll over to next year if you don't sign the player this year.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
I don't think it's a total rebalancing within the game. There's some of that (I think) built into player creation, but there's also the fact that due to the way we had eligibility set, we essentially dumped two classes of prospects at the same time back in the Halcion days of 2038, then 2039 sucked the next class out, leaving us with this one that looks meh to the eye test.
At least I think that's how the two things are inter-relating.
As a system, OOTP is a little self-healing, though.
And I admit to being weird in that I find this kind of draft class more fun to work with.

Solid chance I draft a yellow at #7. Looking, I liked the looked of a couple of those guys.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
Trying this to see if it works...here's the chart from 2039 Media Guide. Note the cliff event on WAR produced by classes after the 2016 mega-class...
That said, there's still value in the smaller classes.

I'm likely drafting based on names, mustaches and cities/countries of origin...anything that could be used as future team news fodder.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
As a side-note/update from StatsPlus data, the 2036 class has created about 130 WAR already, so it's about caught the 2020 class's output--and 2020 is essentially done with their careers.
- Class of 2037 has created 50 WAR.
- Class of 2038 has created 30 WAR.
All total, that's about 210 WAR that these three classes have created. (Class of 2039 is at 0 WAR to date)
I have no real idea how this talent glut will affect the BBA snake as it slides through history, but it will clearly do something!
