Jacksonville Moves on to Landis Memorial Series
It's not often a losing player is named MVP of a series, but that's the situation Júlio Barajas found himself in tonight, as the Jacksonville Hurricanes beat his Rockville Pikemen to advance to the Landis Memorial Series.

Jacksonville won the final game by a score of 5-3 at Owen's Ordinary and took the series 4-2.

Despite his strong performance, Barajas was not taking many positives away from the series.

"I'm glad I played well, sure, but what good does it do us now?"

The Jacksonville Hurricanes will play against the Calgary Pioneers in the next round. Calgary won their series against the Yellow Springs Nine 4 games to 0. The Landis Memorial Series is scheduled to begin on November 2nd, 2039.

United Cup to Metro Stars
It was all about winning for the Mumbai Metro Stars -- and win they did.

There was nothing fancy in how they went about it, players said, they just prepared mentally and physically and then went out and played baseball.

"We did the little things right and we did the big things right," said right fielder Robert Gowron, who was named series MVP. "Now we're the league champions."

Mumbai defeated the Cairo Chariot Archers BC by a score of 9-3 at Seventh Wonder Ball Park to take the series 4-1.

"Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you make your own luck," said Mumbai manager Mark Bruner. "We got lucky a few times, but mostly we did the right things by being prepared for each game and playing the game the way it's meant to be played."
