Hurricanes on to Cartwright Cup
The Landis Memorial Series hopes remain strong for the Jacksonville Hurricanes.

The team tonight eliminated the New Orleans Crawdads with a 5-3 win, to capture the Doubleday Series 4-1.

"We're rolling now," said Juan Ramírez, who was named series MVP. "The pitchers are pitching, hitters are hitting, look out. I expect us to pick our game up to another level in the Cartwright Cup."

The standout offensive performance from Ramírez included a .500 batting average, .556 on-base percentage, 1 home runs, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.

The Jacksonville Hurricanes don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Rockville Pikemen - Las Vegas Hustlers series. Rockville leads the series 3 games to 1. The Cartwright Cup is scheduled to begin on October 23rd, 2039.

Rockville Win Doubleday Series
The Rockville Pikemen will continue the trek towards a Landis Memorial Series title, while the Las Vegas Hustlers are headed home for the season.

Rockville won the Doubleday Series with a clinching game 4-2 victory at The Casino by Moe Fugger, concluding the series at 4-1.

"We didn't want this thing to go any further, that's for sure," Francisco Flores said after officially being named series MVP.

He turned in a dominant offensive performance to win the award, with a .368 batting average, .400 on-base percentage, 3 home runs, 6 RBI and 5 runs scored.

The Rockville Pikemen will play against the Jacksonville Hurricanes in the next round. Jacksonville won their series against the New Orleans Crawdads 4 games to 1. The Cartwright Cup is scheduled to begin on October 23rd, 2039.

Yellow Springs Advances to Cartwright Cup
The Yellow Springs Nine have beaten the Hawaii Tropics and will advance to the Cartwright Cup.

Yellow Springs won the final game by a 15-5 count to take the series 4-2. The Nine triumph was no doubt in large part because of the performance of center fielder Abdeljilill Sediki, who was named MVP of the series.

"The only thing that matters is that we're off to the next round and one step closer to a Landis Memorial Series," he said.

The Yellow Springs Nine don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Calgary Pioneers - San Fernando Bears series. Calgary leads the series 3 games to 2. The Cartwright Cup is scheduled to begin on October 23rd, 2039.

Calgary Takes Doubleday Series in Deciding Game
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Chico's Bail Bonds Field as the Doubleday Series stretched to the final game.

It was the Calgary Pioneers feeling the thrill of victory, with a 7-4 win over the San Fernando Bears, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Cartwright Cup.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said San Fernando manager Abe Colbert. "Congratulations to Calgary, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was first baseman Liann-wei Mao, who was named MVP. He hit .857 with a .889 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Calgary Pioneers will play against the Yellow Springs Nine in the next round. Yellow Springs won their series against the Hawaii Tropics 4 games to 2. The Cartwright Cup is scheduled to begin on October 23rd, 2039.

League Championship Series Goes the Distance, Cairo Prevails
The Cairo Chariot Archers BC and Manama Pearls held nothing back in an entertaining League Championship Series that went the distance.

In the end, it will be Cairo advancing to the United Cup, after a 12-2 triumph in the final game at Seventh Wonder Ball Park, to wrap up the series 4-3.

The Chariot Archers BC players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Pearls.

Aubrey Anderson was named series MVP for Cairo. For the series, Anderson hit .379 with a .419 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 9 runs.

The Cairo Chariot Archers BC don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Mumbai Metro Stars - Bucharest Impalers series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The United Cup is scheduled to begin on October 23rd, 2039.

Metro Stars Prevail, as League Championship Series Goes to the Wire
When the entire season comes down to one game, José Olivarez said you find out what a team is really about.

As it turns out, the Mumbai Metro Stars are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Bucharest Impalers 4-2 tonight at Ballpark of Bucharest in order to win the League Championship Series and book a place in the next round.

"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Olivarez, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."

Olivarez hit .393 with a .485 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs.
