Hustlers Heading to Doubleday Series
By a score of 6-0, the Las Vegas Hustlers have sealed a victory in the Geoghegan Round over the Mexico City Aztecs.

"We knew we would be in for a tough series and that's what we got," said center fielder Francisco Méndez of the Hustlers, who was named the series MVP. "The Aztecs knew how to battle and gave us a good test."

The next test for Las Vegas will come in the Doubleday Series, after winning this series 3-1.

The Las Vegas Hustlers will play against the Rockville Pikemen in the next round. Rockville had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 14th, 2039.

Calgary Moves on to Doubleday Series
The Calgary Pioneers clubhouse was doused in champagne tonight at The Stockyard, after the team wrapped up the Geoghegan Round.

Calgary downed the Edmonton Jackrabbits 6-2 to win the series 3-1.

"There's no champagne if you lose, so it's a sweet thing to taste," said shortstop Chip Puckett, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Puckett hit .529 with a .529 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 3 runs.

While they may not get the sweet taste of champagne this year, the Jackrabbits will no doubt be drowning their sorrows tonight.

"It's never easy to lose a playoff series and I don't think there's a single guy in our room who is going to be able to easily accept that our season is now over," said Edmonton manager Juan Carlos Gonzáles.

The Calgary Pioneers will play against the San Fernando Bears in the next round. San Fernando had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 14th, 2039.

Jacksonville Takes Geoghegan Round
The Jacksonville Hurricanes clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Phoenix Talons room was filled with despair and sadness after the Geoghegan Round concluded.

"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Rocky Allen, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.

Jacksonville won the final game by a 10-5 count at Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium and the series 3-1.

Phoenix manager John Yates was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.

"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.

For the series, Allen hit .462 with a .533 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Jacksonville Hurricanes will play against the New Orleans Crawdads in the next round. New Orleans had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 14th, 2039.

Hawaii Win Geoghegan Round
After their 9-6 win today at South Pacific Field over the California Crusaders, the Hawaii Tropics will advance to the Doubleday Series. Hawaii won the series by a 3-1 margin.

Leading the way for the Tropics was first baseman Manuel Aguilar, Jr., who had a spectacular series and was named MVP.

"I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus."

The Hawaii Tropics will play against the Yellow Springs Nine in the next round. Yellow Springs had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 14th, 2039.

Manama Captures Wild Card
The Manama Pearls are celebrating a trip to the postseason and say they plan to make the most of the opportunity.

The team officially clinched a wild card berth today and starting pitcher Gonzalo Fajardo said they are "looking forward to making some noise" in the playoffs.

"There's nothing better than postseason baseball," he said. "We hope to go on a deep run and give our fans in Manama something to be excited about."

For now, excitement is running high as the team's 79-82 record has clinched the playoff position and the team has a chance to win its 2nd Unified Middle East Baseball Association championship.

Bucharest Narrowly Wins Bancroft League
Prognosticators had a difficult time handicapping the Bancroft League this year. And thus, it should come as no surprise that the division title hung in the balance late into the season.

In the end, the Bucharest Impalers have reigned supreme and captured the franchise's 2nd division crown.

"Hopefully there are more celebrations to come," said starting pitcher Tadamichi Yoshida. "We could get used to this."

The club currently has a 97-66 record and will be seeking the 1st championship in franchise history.

"I believe in this group and I think our best is yet to come," said manager Isa Abdul-Nasir.
