What will next sim cover for UMEBA?

Post by allenciox » Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:21 pm

So, I know season ended for BBA last sim, but we still have one more day in regular season in UMEBA. So is the next sim for us just leading up to the playoffs but not actually starting playoffs? Just trying to figure out what to do; after all, my 34-man roster won't work for playoffs ;o

I’d highly recommend trimming down your roster this sim. My guess is the playoffs will get started in the middle of this sim.

So I can set up the playoff roster, but there doesn't appear to be any way to set up rotations, lineups for anything but my active roster.... is there something I am missing?

Well, if the playoffs start mid sim I’m screwed. I’ve got a scrub pitching the last game who therefore would end up pitching in the post season for me and several players probably not eligible for playoffs roster.
You have to stop the sim so the UMEBA Gms can set the playoff rosters, for another thing all our rosters are still expanded and will not comply with the playoff roster rules as we have no way of knowing who is PO eligible or not?

Devils advocate, if you were in the BBA my guess is you wouldn’t be thrilled with a 2 day sim.

Easy solution to the problem, heading into next season make sure the UMEBA season starts before the BBA. Like maybe have it start when BBA is doing second spring training sim. Gotta give coverage for all the Mexico City rainouts.

Yeah, at this point it seems that either one league gets trampled on a bit, or we take a staged and longer path through the playoffs. I'm not smart enough to see different options.

There has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears this year for each playoff team. It don't seem fair to any gm or either league to get trampled on. As a GM who is not affected by this I think a slower playoff path to get it right for this year in the end works best.

Hey now, the BBA season ended late because of the Frontier 3 way tie nonsense. I claim no responsibility for any of this.

Would it be possible to postpone the start of the playoffs for the UMEBA? Since the UMEBA playoffs are shorter, we could start them with the second round of BBA playoffs. That is, if the date can still be changed at this point.

We might be fairly invisible to the majority of the BBA but we are as much a part of the BBAverse as the BBA GM’s. Our GM’s will be the future BBA GM’s (and past 😏) and we deserve a say as much as anybody. I don’t like this pervading attitude of “Well, whatever. They’ll have to do what we say because they don’t really matter in the big scheme of things”. A quick stop just to allow the UMEBA to set their PO rosters won’t kill the BBA or ruin their post season experience but the opposite would ruin the playoffs for the UMEBA and kill it for this year

I’m working on it. If anyone can make this dumb game do what I want it’s me.
