BBA Universe inquiry: does MLB still exist?

Post by HoosierVic » Thu Jul 18, 2019 10:30 pm

For TN and other writing venues, does the MLB still exist and compete with the BBA, or is Brewster the only game in town? Asking in advance of next season’s move to Chicago - will the Black Sox be the Windy City’s third baseball team, or will we be bringing the game back to a baseball-starved populace?

Pretty sure the MLB exists but someone else more important would have to confirm.

Everybody has their own reality, based on their own thoughts, upbringing, and experience...shit like that...

What is your reality?

Personally, I believe the BBA populates a zombie ravaged world in which the survivors must continually kill each other for no apparent reason

Instead of say, building things, or growing crops...

The teams are flown from safe zone to safe zone on helicopters...

Perhaps Chicago was just cleared of the undead....

In my reality the BBA replaced MLB or is there in place of MLB....

But Stu is right, the reality is whatever you want to make it.

I typically don't mention MLB in team news segments but will use it obviously for off-topic chatter or when comparing our stats in some of our arguments(such as what WAR is worth) lol. However, I typically don't mention it just because I think it would get a bit messy wondering why those players dont come play for us instead of their shit league lol.

It would be interesting to know what's BBA cannon at this point. But I'd say use whatever you want for writing. Like the others said, it's however you imagine the World is for your writing.

I've referenced it as a distant memory a few times.

In my short time here, I've written it as Brewster Baseball Association is real baseball and there's this thing called Major League Baseball that's a popular long-running computer simulation.

Ha! Well, I decided to treat MLB as if it’s still here, but the White Sox move out of Chicago to Reno, leaving an opening for a Southside team. Maybe I’ll model my new stadium after Comiskey. That would be fun ...

Only Reinsdorf would miss out on Las Vegas and settle for Reno...

Reinsdorf is too much of a cheapskate tightass for Vegas (he says as a lifelong sox fan).

wait! let me pitch another idea...

How about a world populated with vampires and werewolves?

the twist is, they've been among us the entire time! And just now, have gone public

And they all live in Chicago...

This is supposed to be a fictional universe, not real life.

Given zombies appetite for human brains, I think The Genius would fare much better sans zombies and fending off vampires instead.
