Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
Said impossible on his profile but when I looked at the list of players, said $14,000,000. I know the impossible can be different for each team but not sure about a potential signing number. Good luck.

Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
I almost took your pick, Tony Frost. As crazy as it sounds his ability to turn the DP is what I got hung up on. I have 8 pitchers who figure in my future with 8 or better movement Pot. Most of whom are GB/Extreme GB. So Frost wouldn't really be that versatile to me as I wouldn't want to play him at 2B. Not saying he can't play it, just that he's not optimal if you plan on having a groundball heavy staff.

I think Madison got a great pitcher with Keith Short. I was wondering where he was going to be picked.

Man, there are still 5 guys I'd really like to have. What are the chances one of them falls 20 spots?...That's what I thought.

Someone nudge Lee... I'm leaving for Frio River (no cell service) tomorrow for 5 days and I'm hoping I can at least get to manually chose 1, maybe 2 picks...

Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
Man, I am torn on who to pick at 14. On one hand I like Ernie Allen even though he has a 6 movement. I think if I put some PP's into him he may bump into something more (and he's a lefty). Then I like Don Jaramillo who I think could become a good CF with some luck.

I almost took Ernie Allen at 11, but Fountain was just too good to pass up there.bigmike13 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 10:28 amMan, I am torn on who to pick at 14. Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
Really wanted Eric Jones at 23. I also struggled with not taking L'Archibudelli. I'm all about those high contact boys. Ended up with Huerta because I thought he was developed a little more.

I considered all 3 at my pick. Those are all solid picks that late in 1st roundcrobillard wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 11:53 amReally wanted Eric Jones at 23. Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
Yeah for sure. I’m happy with Huerta. I really need help on the left side of my infield so I was considering how well Jones might eventually do at SS and I thought Huerta is closer to sure thing. Really like L’Archibaldelli but chose Huerta just for his extra power. My future outfield look great offensively. I won’t talk about how they look defensively though.indiansfan wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 12:36 pmI considered all 3 at my pick. Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
Was really hoping Jones would fall to 32. Still pretty happy with Pickens. He has an outside chance of actually being a decent SS, and could be a solid 3B if that doesn't work out. Still 4 guys I'm hoping to land with my 2 picks in the supplemental 1st.

Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
I would have taken Huerta if he was available- so we're all pretty much on the same page here.

Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
Scott Bell could be a sleeper pick. His ratings are not lavish but his stats play big and he is ranked as the top HS hitter in the nation according to the reports. Hopefully those context clues pointed me in the right direction.

Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
I mean he hit .368/.449/.649 in close to 600 plate appearances. How many HS players hit better then that? I don't expect to look back and see he was the best player to come out this draft. I'm just looking ahead of the curve and thinking he has a high probability of bumping because his ratings don't line up with his stats/rankings.

Re: 2039 Draft Chatter
I like the pick. It's for similar reasoning I went with Joe Lacy. He hit .369/.434/.634 over 443 plate appearances and can play all three outfield positions along with second and first base. I'm hoping he'll bump also.ae37jr wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:26 amI mean he hit .368/.449/.649 in close to 600 plate appearances. How many HS players hit better then that? No, he has put up numbers for sure. I was just commenting on the validity and accuracy of OOTP reports.ae37jr wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:26 amI mean he hit .368/.449/.649 in close to 600 plate appearances.
