Louisville Hands Reins to Shaw as New GM: Can Louisville win with Stephen Shaw at the helm?

Several respected baseball commentators urged team ownership to show patience with the new man.

"New general managers are always in a rough spot," wrote one. "The organization needs to take a thoughtful, weighted approach. It has some great talent, but it also has holes. Shaw shouldn't reinvent the wheel or feel pressured to make any knee-jerk decisions this early on. He should take his time and base his assessment of the club on logic."

Sage advice, if Louisville will listen to it.

Division Remains Up for Grabs, but Seattle in Postseason: Celebrating a playoff clinch never gets old, according to Ken Walter of the Seattle Storm.

"I could do this each and every year," the starting pitcher said as he celebrated his team officially having clinched a playoff spot. "It's why we play the game - to get to the playoffs and have a chance to become Landis Memorial Series champions."

The Frick League Frontier Division club has a record of 88-68 and will be seeking the franchise's 1st Brewster Baseball Association championship.
