I see you trying to whitewash a headache.

You've hinted at it already, but just do me a solid and say it out loud so I can move on. Public civility on the forums is more important to you than us treating each other with respect in our actions.
Not entirely, I think it starts there.

I also have a problem with saying "we need to treat people with respect in our actions" but it's also okay to publicly and personally attack people.

Semantics.
What is semantics? Kyle's accusation that you are more concerned about the appearance of public nicety than how people actually treat each other through their actions.

If that is what you are calling semantics, I suggest you look up the word. Those are two different things. This is a joke. See new topic I'm about to post.

While I understand that ed may feel attacked because he often seems to be getting beat up on trades, maybe he is honestly just bad at trading and getting proper value for his guys? Hell we all have weaknesses in this game (and Scott for one has admitted he is a bad trader), so maybe that is ed's hole. I know for a fact that ted and I have praised him highly multiple times when we do the FA podcasts so he clearly (in the eyes of a few at least) has figured out that part of the business. While the personal attacks can be a bit much (and I'm guilty of that at times, I don't think there is anything wrong with offering honest assessments of the issues at hand. If ed is tired of continually getting criticized for undervaluing his players and making bad trades, then maybe he should find ways to improve and become better at it.

Making an honest assessment of a trade is totally fair game. Calling a GM out as purposefully attempting to screw another GM is a personal attack that seems inappropriate, especially when you have no idea what dynamics created the deal.

Half the time I see a "honest assessment" of a trade, however, I don't agree with that assessment. So I think it's reasonable to ask those "honest assessors" to keep in mind that they, too, could be wrong.

My honest assessment of the deal was a small sway to Omaha. Some of the response was to through shade at me personally, and I wasn't even involved in the deal in any way.

These kinds of trades are detrimental to the health of the league. You did the MBBA a sincere service today by trying to curb this type of behavior with public pressure (the only medium we have available to us to exercise).
How is this trade any more damaging to the league than our Miranda trade years ago? Back then, Miranda was similar to what Hale is now and you only gave up two borderline SP prospects.
