Ricardo Díaz said the one thing he hopes he's remembered for in his baseball career is for being the hardest worker around.

It will be time to start reflecting on his career soon, as the 40-year-old California Crusaders starting pitcher today announced his retirement from the sport.

"I pride myself on my work ethic and I hope that rubbed off on my teammates and continues to rub off on the team after I'm gone," he said.

Díaz has compiled a lifetime ERA of 3.18 with 243 career victories and 170 defeats. He has 4054 career strikeouts in 3836.1 innings and has held opponents to a .221 batting average.

Elit Mark to Fill GM Role for Balauri: Life in Bucharest has been eventful of late. On the heels of a front office shakeup, the club has been pondering its future. Today, a local radio station reported that a deal has been reached with Elit Mark to become the new Bucharest general manager.
