Re: Draft Chatter
Now that the picks been made, Zak Johnson was the guy I was talking about as the obvious #1 for me. He's just so much better developed than any other top end prospect - not too far off ML ready already, tbh. I'll take that over a 3/3/3 currently rated hail mary any day.

Re: Draft Chatter
Yeah after I read through your messages again. I figured you may have talking about him instead. He's definitely the clear number one to me. The guy is couple good points of production away from being able to play this season which is just ridiculous for a guy that has so much potential. He's a little too good to be true for someone with a number one pick. There's a few great options in the top 5-10 though.agrudez wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 2:38 pmNow that the picks been made, Zak Johnson was the guy I was talking about as the obvious #1 for me. Re: Draft Chatter
Zak is good. I'd like to see what his greed level was at least draft since he didnt sign last time around. Personally though, current development is good but I dont put as much weight into it when I am drafting - unless everything else were equal, there are plenty of other factors I'd put ahead of how developed a player already was. I'll go with a guy that has a higher leadership or lower greed, etc. Even more speed or better defense or an extra pitch or something along those lines.
Not arguing Zak shouldnt be #1, but saying not the clear-cut "How could you even think about anyone else" guy, at least not for me.

Re: Draft Chatter
Like I said before, my outlook is that the players have to develop first before you worry about anything else. Injuries, future salary demands, OOTP The Sims drama, etc. They all mean nothing if that 3/3/3 current ratings 17 year old never makes it out of AA. Risk mitigation is the #1 thing I look for in the draft. To each their own, though.
(Having just went on this tangent, I probably telegraphed the guys I'm looking at with my picks, lol)

If anyone didn't already know which guys you would be looking at, they haven't been paying attention, probably still aren't, and so it won't matter.agrudez wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 3:27 pmLike I said before, my outlook is that the players have to develop first before you worry about anything else. Thanks partner!crobillard wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 2:27 pmI love the Zak Johnson pick. Obviously. The dude looks so good. Huge stamina. There's of course some concern whether that changeup develops, but the high work ethic will help. Bump his intelligence with some PPs and you have yourself a future ace more likely than not. Well done.

I guess I don’t have to feel so dumb knowing that Kyle likes right handed bats and high school pitchers. Re: Draft Chatter
Rivera to San Antonio was the one I was intrigued most about. Easy signability (for Nashville at least) as long as you pay the man what he wants. But that Fragile tag and already having a partially torn labrum just before he turned 16 was scaring me. Glad that decision was taken away from me.

Re: Draft Chatter
Oh, dont get me wrong Mike, I like it. I absolutely would have taken him too, probably even at #1. Would have had me on edge for a couple of seasons to see how things were going. I dont mind not having to make that choice though and having to go with someone that should be a little more stable and will (hopefully) not cost me as much to sign.bigmike13 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 8:59 pmThe draft is always a roll of the dice, I just decided to make a roll a big oneGoldenOne wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 8:57 pmRivera to San Antonio was the one I was intrigued most about. Re: Draft Chatter
Will selecting "list pick" automatically make the pick, or only after time expires?
Re: Draft Chatter
It will automatically make it if you have the players listed. If they all get chosen before it will switch back to a manual pick unless you also have auto pick chosen.

Re: Draft Chatter
I’m not crazy about Salas but he’s a solid pick I think. I was hoping one of those pitchers would drop to me. No pick is perfect though. At least I should be able to afford Salas.

Re: Draft Chatter
Well, I was hoping one of those first four would make it through to me. Oh well. I'll live with Simpson I guess. Doesnt have a cool nickname like Salas or Feliciano but at least he's got some skills. And the high leadership, low greed, and durability along with a "normal" signability are all pretty nice to have as well.
