GM McDonald Gets Boot in Brooklyn
Jody McDonald has always been known as a baseball personality who doesn't shy away from making his feelings known.
The same can be said following his firing today as the general manager of the Brooklyn Robins.
"I don't agree with this decision at all. I think the Robins are making a huge mistake," he said. "I'm going to do whatever I can to stay involved in baseball and make sure they come to regret this decision."

This isnt right. I put in a claim for Ramos. No way it should have gotten to a Frick League team before going to a JL team first. My news says a different team with a higher priority claimed the player. Do we not follow MLB rules here and its just a worst-record to best-record, all one league rule that we follow instead?

McDonald and his "Legendary" International Scouting Skills was brought in when assistant GM's were first introduced. My understanding was that if assistant gm's had any purpose, it was to help find international talent. So I hired a scout for the role. With 6 star prospects being discovered left and right around the league now, I decided it was time for a new approach and brought in an actual GM. Will it make a difference? Probably not. But when other teams are finding guys like this and all I'm coming up with is this. Then I gotta change something.
