Boise's Fans Crushed After Spuds Narrowly Miss Playoffs
After the Boise Spuds were mathematically pushed out of a playoff spot today, angry fans of the team bashed the team on social media.
"The team's GM put together all of the pieces needed and we had a great team but management simply blew it," said one local.
"The Boise Spuds said they would turn the franchise around - I guess they meant 360 degrees," wrote one fan.
"Boise needs to go back to school and study their chemistry - they obviously don't have any," blasted another fan.
The Boise Spuds, are expected to again have a very competitive squad in next year's Frick League Frontier Division playoff race.

Jared Gillstrom Gets Hit Number 2000
With one swing of the bat, Jared Gillstrom put his name in the league record books yesterday at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium. It was his 2000th career hit, putting him in a select group of players.
In spite of Jared Gillstrom's achievement, his San Fernando Bears went down in defeat to the Boise Spuds, 6-4.
On his milestone day, the 31-year-old shortstop registered 1 hit in 5 at-bats.
In his career Gillstrom has played in 1485 games, totaling 2000 hits, 305 doubles, 57 triples and 333 homers. He has hit .333 with 1123 RBIs and scored 1125 times.

Kun Holds Nashville Hitless
The Las Vegas Hustlers relied on no-hit stuff from starter Hao Kun to defeat the Nashville Goats 1-0 at The Casino by Moe Fugger today.
"It's quite a thrill," Kun told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the Johnson League records, he stopped Nashville cold and hitless, surrendering 1 walk and fanning 9 of the 28 batters he faced.
Las Vegas manager Matthew Barnard was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Kun "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
This season Kun has compiled a 3-2 mark with a 3.79 ERA in 5 starts.

Outlaws Buried - Out of Playoffs
António Tobías said it's going to be "an awfully long offseason" for the San Antonio Outlaws after they missed the Brewster Baseball Association playoffs. The club came close, but ultimately ran out of games to secure a postseason spot and were eliminated from contention today.
San Antonio last appeared in the postseason in 2032. This is their 3rd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 33 times in their 40-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Outlaws have missed the playoffs 7 times.

California's Kazarov to Miss Season
A blow for Trdat Kazarov today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 4 months with a fractured elbow. Kazarov suffered the injury throwing the ball. Although officials from the California Crusaders are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Kazarov's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
Kazarov currently has a .229 batting average with 64 hits, 13 homers, 36 RBIs, 36 runs scored and a .268 OBP.

Aviators Mathematically Eliminated from Playoffs
With games left to play, the Wichita no longer have anything to play for except for pride and their fans.
With their record of 56-87, they have mathematically been eliminated from making the playoffs this year.
Wichita Aviators manager, Ben Forga, says that pride is more than enough.
"We are going to win every game we possibly can. That's a promise."

A drama-free 5-1 sim where we took a significant lead for the #1 seed. I'll take it!

Sigh of relief here with a 4-2 sim. I did a lot of crazy things this sim that could have really backfired.
-Balderas played CF every game(6/9/7 with 3 exp)
-Ricardo Guzman started 2 games at 3B(1/1/1/1 with 0 exp) when my extreme flyball pitchers pitched
-Used Tampa Bay style pitching. 6 man rotation limited to 50 pitches all around. Starters can work out of the pen too(had 7 relief appearances by guys who also started this week)
-Put my best starter in the bullpen as a Stopper.
