It was a special day at Owen's Ordinary for Rockville's Enrique Gómez. The Pikemen ace logged his 200th career win against the Jimmies. In the 9-3 decision Gómez tossed 6 innings, surrendered 5 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
"I'm real fortunate that I had the opportunity to play with such good players during my career," said Gómez. "I just couldn't have drawn it up any better. I'm glad I did it in this uniform, too. Rockville is a great organization to play for."
Career-to-date, Gómez has a record of 200 wins and 105 losses and a 3.03 ERA.

Baca on a Tear, Hits for Cycle:
António Baca stole the headlines today, hitting for the cycle in the Las Vegas Hustlers' 21-5 win over the Nashville Goats.
"Well that was fun, huh?" he said, smiling, after the game.
His 4 hits got the Hustlers offense going and his 4 RBI and 3 runs scored helped to seal the verdict.

Trujillo Fires No-Hitter:
José Trujillo relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold Boise hitless in a 2-0 win at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium today.
"Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Spuds off balance and guessing the whole game."
The 31-year-old starter rung up 5 strikeouts and 6 walks in whipping the Spuds.
"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," Boise skipper Luis Luna said.
So far in 17 appearances this season, Trujillo has recorded 10 wins and sustained 1 loss. He has pitched 105 innings, yielded 98 hits, fanned 76 and has a 3.86 ERA.

Last two sims: took series vs Mexico City; took series vs Calgary; lost series to Edmonton; even up in series with Valencia.
Edmonton's only two wins in last 14 games were against Vancouver. Blah.
20-year-old pitcher Ramirez broke in with nice scoreless three inning relief stint; will get start.
My first round draft pick (very difficult to sign) signed for just $2 million. Didn't expect that.
My catcher/RP 2nd round draftee (better as RP) torn UCL, out 13 months.
Other second round pick signed on the cheap.
Third & fourth round picks declined to sign. Screw them.

We keep winning despite our best players not really playing that well. Either the results will dry up, or we have even another gear left in us. Not sure which will happen.
