The GBC is dead. SO here I am.

Post by jiminyhopkins » Wed Dec 09, 2015 7:38 am

:violin: :( :( :( :( :( :(

So yeah, It hurts. The feels are real for my fake Talons team in the fake GBC.

And now its the MLB offseason and there's all this talk of free agency, 40 man rosters, Rule V drafts and what not.

SO I was thinking, maybe I could give the ol' MBWBBWABA another shot? AFter all, The Washington Bobwhites are a legendary franchise, if only for once finishing in 2nd place while allowing 900 runs. And scoring 850. You could look it up.

So, if there are any openings in the future, I'd like to offer my name for humble consideration. Thanks for your time.

Hey man, nice to see you. Every once in awhile I feel bad about not getting shit done in the GBC, but the more of this I play, the more I realize there's no way in hell I'm dealing with doing the FPS offseason, making the draft, fixing ST, etc, anymore. It's just too damn clunky. Sad though.

You know, before we get all super excited about expanding, we do have a bunch of EBA teams that could serve as a holding area. Matt has the best understanding of how we are for owners, but we have turned over a quarter (at least) of the league in the last 3 seasons. Do we really need more teams, or do we need to just wait?

No, I think I could get the EBA going again for these guys.

Expansion is great, but only if it can be maintained. Far prefer small and uber-active to big and hard to maintain.

Yup, and that's what we decided. So, which EBA club do you guys want while you wait? PPs carry over.

I'm hugely in favour of relaunching the EBA as an actual league. I'd also like to do a recruiting drive for it to try and maximize the number of human GMs there -- it would make for a more fully-realized world as well as a deeper well of new GMs to replace outgoing guys with.

Ahh, like the good ole days. Des Moines own Eddie Murphy is the only GM to win both an EBA championship, and a Landis.

Wow that's something cool.

Human managers in the EBA? That sounds cool too.

Um... hate to be a party pooper, but when you all had human managers the Rule 6 wasn't a thing. I can't imagine real life people being okay with losing their best players every year with no compensation.

Life goes on. That's only one of the trials of being an EBA manager. It probably beats just lurking.

Maybe I'll schedule an exhibition between the Champs of both leagues!

This. Even if it's a mismatch. That's a cool idea.

Alternately, an exhibition between the worst team of the MBBA and the EBA champs.

See if the threat of some genuine humiliation serves to get people rebuilding faster :P
