Is it just me...
Is it just me...
Or have things slowed down considerably around here? Seems like the first few sims people were around and stuff was going on...now, well, not so much. I know finals are going on this week and next -- but then its winter break. Just curious if this is the norm or what.

Re: Is it just me...
Beginning of the year we had some new owners (including myself) who wanted to make a splash, make some trades, etc. If there are any school folk (like me) this is crunch time (I'm done as of 6p tomorrow though). I think people are just watching hte first couple sims, see how things really start to shake down and then we'll perhaps see some roster moves.
I wouldn't worry

Re: Is it just me...
Next week is my last week of school for the semester and I have two papers I need to get done. My activity level will probably be at a minimum for two weeks. Won't miss any exports or trade offers, but I won't be on the boards as much.

There's always more happening at the beginning of a season, the trade deadline and the offseason than during the season itself. That's just logical/reasonable stuff; that's how it happens in the majors, too. It's a long season and during the year you'll see the standard team news and notes, but there isn't usually much to say about the game itself, because there are few "major" events. It's one of the flaws of a 162-game season in which 6-10 teams are eliminated shortly after Opening Day. And a team can only make so many trades.
I am disappointed that nobody even gave me a chuckle at my "serious report" on what Jay Anderson has to say, though...

Yeah...I dont really have much to get excited about. Maybe if I had a Team ERA less than 5.00 that might make me excited...aaronweiner wrote:There's always more happening at the beginning of a season, the trade deadline and the offseason than during the season itself. Re: Is it just me...
I was out of town for a week on vacation and now I'm home for the holidays a week early, so my writing and participation have been down, and my apologies for that. I'll be writing more once I'm back in Vegas next week, both my own TNs and responses to other owners' TNs.
