Waiver Claims?

How are players on waivers awarded? Are they not awarded to the team with the worst record that puts in a claim? I ask because I claimed MR Noah Lapan in the game, but was told he was awarded to Phoenix who has a better record than me.

I've had similar issues, but I think the deal might be that you go to the end of the line once you have a successful claim. Don't know if you have done that yet, but that could explain it.

the way it works in real life is reverse record like u said but the league factors in. example. Brewers put someone on waivers. Pirates claim and Mariners claim. The pirates would win even if they had a better record because they are in the same league as milwaukee. so when the waiver goes out priority goes same league worst to best record and then the other league worst to best record. I've no idea if thats the way this game works or not tho.

The OOTP manual reads that it is the team with the worst record that puts in a claim gets the player on waivers. There is no mention of league specifics or after making a claim going to the back of the line.

I'd like to know too. It was a problem in previous versions, but I was under the impression it had been fixed.

Is your 40 man roster full? That will block a claim.

No and I wouldn't think that would matter because the player claimed goes to the DFA list which would allow you to release someone from your 40-man roster before placing the claimed player on it.

It hasn't been fixed. We've learned this in the GUBA.

Also, did Phoenix possibly have a worse record than you at the time of the claim rather than at the end of the sim? Just throwing that out, haven't looked at it myself.

No - I looked at the records at the beginning of the sim, the day of the claim, and the end of the sim and my record was always worse than Phoenix.

The 40 man roster thing was an issue previously, but it is basically just a bug. I can't believe it wasn't fixed. Looking at the big boards from a couple of years ago, it was recognized as a big deal, and Markus said he was on it.

Im guessing it has something to do with "the bottom of the list".

Which means it's a bug. Oh well - we'll see what happens on the next sim.

That is a pretty common method. I know a lot of fantasy teams use it. Keeps the worst team from loading up off of the waiver wire, giving nobody else a shot at any players. Not that most of those guys are world beaters, but some can be good. May not be written in the manual that way, but it is not a bad method if that is what is happening.

There is no reset on this FYI. I had claimed both of LOU's pitchers they waived - and they both went to PHO. While I got no one.

What really happened?

The simmers emailed me and we fixed it! We're in this together! FTW!

I don't understand the process either; believe me, there has been plenty of times when a team with a far better record than mine has won out on a waiver claim...

Sadly you can say that every time I put in a claim; every team has a better record!...my neck is getting sore from looking up the standings all the time...

I'm not paying a lot for that muffler...
