How to read an OOTP Game Log

I posted this in another article and it occurred to me that everyone may not have had the *ahem* pleasure of using Project Scoresheet and Baseball Workshop's hit chart. Though I'm sure MLB has a "different enough to be proprietary" proprietary chart, OOTP either uses this exact chart or something very close to it. If you want or have to read through game logs, referencing back to this chart as a habit will help you pick up things pretty quickly as it's very intuitive.
For example, if you see a FLY OUT listed as 8LXD, then you know it was caught (because it was an out) in the "8XD" section of the hit chart. But what about the "L"? That's where the intuitive part comes in. Codes sometimes describe the nature of the batted ball. Since this was a fly out, "L" can only stand for line-drive. So the batter hit a line drive to deep center field that was caught by the center fielder (assuming it shows F8 in the log...it could show F9 or F7 if there was a severe outfield shift.
