Florida Instructional League primer?

Post by HoosierVic » Wed May 15, 2019 8:32 pm

Is there an “instructional league for dummies” guide anywhere - specifically, who is it appropriate for (top prospects? Middling prospects?), are there age/service restrictions? I did get access to my team in-game and hired a manger and asst. GM, but wasn’t sure what to do next ...

Here's a small bit: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=25301

I'd say everyone uses the FPL a little differently. I personally tend to use better prospects, even if they are young, but also select for guys who either didn't get as much time as I'd like, or didn't get innings, or who I'd like to learn new positions. I think others send older prospects. Dunno. Mostly it's just kind of a fun little divergence. :)

Cool. Thanks, Ron. When does that season start?

Good question I was wondering about that myself. Not sure my strategy yet, I definitely think I will be careful with pitchers and consider how many pitches they threw during season.

Yeah, would probably not use top pitching prospects - maybe the next rung down. And put them on a pitch count.

I will if they have under 100 innings on the season and I have the pitch max at like 70 for the whole team.

Thanks, Brandon. A very useful rule of thumb!
