The Brewster

***How to set up The Brewster for OOTP25. Follow these directions EXACTLY:
1. DO ALL OF THIS WHEN OOTP25 IS CLOSED.
2. Create a new folder called "Brewster.lg" in your Documents/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 25/saved_games folder.
3. Download the following file: https://statsplus.net/brewster/files/brewster.zip
*4. Extract it into the Documents/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 25/saved_games/Brewster.lg folder.
5. Open OOTP 25, load Brewster, and then close OOTP 25.
*6. Download the following file and place in your Documents/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 25/saved_games/Brewster.lg/settings folder: https://statsplus.net/brewster/files/ac ... ta_gms.dat

*Note for Step 4 - The league files should be directly in the Brewster.lg folder. If they are nested in another folder within Brewster.lg you will not be able to load the league.
*Note for Step 6 - The file must be named accountsdata_gms.dat If your computer turned it into accountsdata_gms(1).dat or similar, you will get an error. Rename the file removing the (1) before finishing.

For everyone who is having problems, make sure that the game hasn't decided randomly to have a different default save path. If you don't have an OOTP Baseball 19 folder in your documents\Out of the Park Developments folder, like you do for previous versions, this is what happened. To fix this: (alternatively you could just unzip do the above in the new place where the game is saving your file, however I'm not sure if that will mess with imports/exports. Probably not, but I wasn't sure if we all have the same save path. Also, I like having my old save path, and not having to dig through about 10 embedded file directories every time I want to mess with something).

1. In your C:\...Documents/Out of the Park Developments/ folder, create an OOTP Baseball 19 folder
1a. (Maybe not be necessary, but I did it and I think a loading error did go away. I don't remember, I changed a lot of things at one point) Find the data folder where everything is currently saving. It should be "c:\Program Files (x86)/Out of the Park Baseball 19/data". (if you bought the game through steam like I did it's in the steamapps folder, similar pathway, just more folders) Copy everything in that folder to the one your created in step 1.
2. Run the game, go to the settings tab on the bottom left. On the fourth tab "Expert", the first option will be "Custom Data Path (*). Set this to C:\Users/(WHATEVER USER YOU ARE)/Documents/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 19
3. Exit the game
4. Create a "saved_games" folder under C:\Users/(WHATEVER USER YOU ARE)/Documents/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 19 if this was not already done by step 1a.
5. Then follow the above directions

I keep getting a message saying I can't open a connection to the FTP server. Any recommendations?

Unless you have something wrong with the location of the "accountsdata_gms.dat" file (which should be in the setting folder of your brewster.lg folder) this is usually a server side issue.

My Documents folder has nothing related to OOTP in it, so there's no place to put a new folder or the league file.

Are you on a Mac? Because these are PC instructions, the PC automatically creates an OOTP folder in your documents folder when you install it. Unfortunately I've never used a Mac so I don't know what their file system is?

Ultimately, the file needs to go under your saved-games folder...not sure what to direct you at this point. I can maybe skype sometime to walk you through things if need be.

Is this your first game in OOTP? If you've never created a "New" game in OOTP, then the default save folders wouldn't have been created yet.

If this is the case, create a New default league, like using a current MLB season. Afterwards, you should be able to find the saved games directory for OOTP.

If Nigel is correct and you're using a MAC. Then the folder might be hidden. See link below.

Trying to set up OOTP on another computer, and the link to the starter file in the first post is dead.

I'm not sure it's related, but I've been unable to dl the file on my second computer since yesterday. I got it on my laptop right after the sim, though, so I could export at least.

FYI, I had to use the accounts.dat file from Ronco in this thread in order to connect to the FTP.

Note: Rather than dl and extract the new file, I just imported the v19 league into v20, then closed it, then loaded the new accounts file.

It seems to connect just fine.

Ron, that doesnt work. You need the master file, not your own conversion.
