Which number are we looking at to determine payroll? When you go to cut someone, it says the money left will spread out over the years as player expenses. Wasn't sure if that's the number used or if we use the number shown on the salary screen.

Payroll, here, is what would be used for the salary cap. You can find that number on your Front Office page in game as well.
