GM Change, Seattle Storm

Post by recte44 » Mon Oct 30, 2023 10:58 am

After many seasons of min or less participation, we have decided to relieve Nathan of his duties as Seattle GM.

The new Storm GM is Ron Collins @RonCo . I have given him the freedom to move and re-brand this franchise. I mean, seriously, it's a WNBA franchise!

Oof, I’m never gonna have a good team. Excited to watch somebody take on a bottom dweller. Seems like during my time here all the veteran GMs have moved into positive situations. This one is not that.

Seattle isn't in too bad of shape. Farm system actually looks pretty deep.

They have a few not great contracts that are mostly off the books in 2 years. The finances aren't great either, but Ron will fix that in short order. My guess is that they need a solid 2 year rebuild and they'll be playoff ready by 2059.

How long it takes to win a Brewster... Well that is another story.

I mean, we already know the answer to that with Ron at the helm ;)

The finances may take longer than you think, unfortunately. I was seeing games where 8k were showing up against us in Seattle's home park. Depends on how fast Ron can get the fans back in the seats. So I'm guessing 2059 for being competitive but might take another 2 years to have enough cash to make a playoff team. But Ron's so good with ootp money he might be able to do it faster. Can't wait to find out!

Yeah. We're a little shackled with the finances right now. So we'll see what happens.

Bottom line, I think we'll probably drop prices from the current $28. :)
