Arbitration Contract Adjustments

Post by RonCo » Fri May 28, 2021 7:48 pm

Since we had issues with the financials during the conversion to V22, the GB has decided that we making some adjustments to several specific arbitration contracts that were out of normal bounds. The concern is that these contracts are (1) anti-competitive in our environment, and (2) might roll through to next year...which would be worse.

We've gone through the v21 file to see original projections, then looked at what the players were awarded. Below is a list of players who received considerably more than those original projections. If you feel others should be considered, please feel free to drop us a note.

Bottom line: these arbitration contracts will be adjusted as follows. Apologies for issues, but OOTP is what OOTP is.

I made my minor league adjustments and active roster reductions and exported. Do I need to do something prior to the opening day sim? Thanks

Thanks for letting us know Ron. That's why I have plenty of cap space.

This is huge. People might have remembered how surprised (and disappointed) I was when those arbitration decisions got handed down.

Recte will handle the adjustments and it will be reflected in the opening day file. You shouldn't have to do anything on your end.

I assume each team's current salary total does not yet reflect the revised number?

Good new...

Now... about Comp Picks for Free Agents? Maybe a couple sim extension? I kind of got screwed and I know I'm not the only one.

If not... then so be it. But no one was going to pay Arrendondo almost $30 million per season.
