Introducing: The Vic Caleca Team News of the Year Award

As can be inferred by the flood of thoughtful and heartbreaking posts here and on Discord, the loss of Vic Caleca will certainly be felt in the Brewster Universe. He was clearly a beloved GM whose presence and writings made an impact probably even beyond his ability to understand. Some have noted the desire to name an award after Vic—something the Governing Board was already considering, and now feels would clearly be applauded.

As such, it is my privilege to announce that starting in 2046 and by unanimous agreement, each season from here on the league will honor a league member with the Vic Caleca Team News of the Year Award.

As the TN/PPT counter, I’ll work with the rest of the board to iron out specific timing for nominations and whatnot, but the basic idea is that at the end of each year:

1) GM’s will nominate a TN they feel is worthy of award (perhaps one of theirs and one of another GM’s). These TN should be of high quality or of such content as Vic would be proud … while that’s subjective, I trust you’ll get the idea.
2) The nominated TNs will be gathered into a ballot of some sort (likely a forum poll if it fits).
3) The league will vote.
4) The winner will receive both a 2-point PPT boost, as well as a spiffy banner that will be appended to the post in question.

So, there’s that.

I like to think that the existence of this award would please Vic to no end, so let’s follow his lead and have as much fun as we can as we pursue the first ever Caleca!
