GM Change, Chicago Black Sox
I wasn't quite sure how to even move forward today with the news of Vic Caleca's passing. As I thought about Vic today, I wanted to do what he would have wanted. I think that he would have wanted his beloved Black Sox to carry on, and in good hands.
Jim Cox has bided his time in the UMEBA. He's become the winningest GM in UMEBA history. He's now the GM of the Chicago Black Sox.
Win one for Vic!

Re: GM Change, Chicago Black Sox
Thank-you all. I am honored and overwhelmed to take over one of the most storied (in more ways than one) franchises in BBA, I just hope I can continue the fine tradition in Chicago.
In Chicago, there are two franchises for the ages: The Bulls during the Michael Jordan years, and the Black Sox under the tutelage of Vic Caleca. I will do everything I can to continue the tradition he started.

Re: GM Change, Chicago Black Sox
Welcome to the BBA Jim, big shoes to fill but to take a quote from a pm Vic once sent me.
Tough decision Matt but I'm betting Vic will be giving a nod to what you decided. But most important of all, don’t take any of it too seriously – and have fun!!!

Re: GM Change, Chicago Black Sox
Congratulations Jim! As someone else said, you’ll be sorely missed in the UMEBA, but you are absolutely the right choice to take over the Chicago franchise, and we all know you’ll do a great job.

Re: GM Change, Chicago Black Sox
It's going to be very strange to not have Vic running the Black Sox, but Jim has been an excellent GM in the UMEBA. Best of luck to Jim in the Windy City.
