The Governing Board has decided that we must veto the Nashville/Valencia trade.
It is my own personal belief that trades should only be vetoed when they are so terribly unbalanced that it's clear to see for everyone. I never thought I'd have to veto a trade. This one is the first.
I can see reasoning from both sides of the deal. In this case the return that Haney could bring for Valencia should be so much more than a relief pitcher (albeit, a great one) and a few non-descript prospects.
Given Neil's recent promotion to a new league and the recent switch to real ratings, and a urge to get something done quickly, I can see how Neil would see this trade as viable. That's where the "best interests of the league" come into play. Valencia has been bad forever, and Haney is their best chip. Let's make it count.
We now consider this matter closed, and I'm hoping there are no hard feelings anywhere. Let's get on with our league!
