It didnt work out for Nick Soulis in Kuwait City, so the expansion franchise is already getting their second GM.

@Dington I'll make a new file with you in it this evening.

Being the other expansion franchise it’s great to start with a blank canvas, welcome Chad.

Have fun! As Doug said, you get to write the franchise history from Day 1 - very cool.

I'm excited to lead the Alhafr to glory...as soon as I find out what an Alhafr is, exactly.

Oh man, please chronicle the journey in how you find out what an Alhafr is. That sounds hilarious. Also, welcome. Really cool opportunity.

Based on my early "dredging" into what Alhafr translates to, it seems it is Arabic for "dredging." I assumed it was something oil related given our city's location and logo. Born and raised in Long Beach, CA, I am familiar with oil derricks and the position of General Manager for our sister city, Kuwait City, was more than fitting.

This was the expansion proposal I put forward for Kuwait City, Nigeria Wichita GM did the logo and uniforms.

Team :- Kuwait City Alhafr
Nickname Meaning :- Drillers
Colours :- Red, White and Black.
Country :- Kuwait
Population :- 2,000,000
Rivals :- Manama Pearls
Owner :- Mahfuz Bassam (oil)
Stadium :- Bassam Petroleum Stadium

One of the if not the richest men in Kuwait, Mr Bassam is a self proclaimed sports addict. Asked if he was interested in owning a franchise in the UMEBA his answer was "I'll have a baseball stadium built within a year, for the time being they can use the soccer stadium (Bassam Petroleum Stadium). If anything is to go by the Kuwait City team would have the best ballpark in the UMEBA as the soccer stadium as a retractable roof, grass field and is air conditioned. The grass is rolled into a tinted glass greenhouse that is also air conditioned to give a perfect environment, combined they cost $6 Billion.

*The owner, stadium and write up were just a backstory for the proposal, you can write your own story like I say blank canvas.

Yeah like a lot of translations from Arabic websites usually differ but one of them I found was “drillers”.
