Yeah, I love the idea of enough leagues for a pseudo-Champion's League type deal but I know it would be a ginormous cluster for Recte. One of those 'it would be cool if...' things.

I just spent ten minutes trying to guess (as I'm sure I could just find examples in the OOTP forum) to the format of a regulation-style organization and its roster (larger rosters and a U21-type minor league team?) and all the subsequent weird things that would cause and my nose started bleeding and I nearly passed out. So yeah, "would be cool if (and only if)..." indeed.

I'll never bring that up in front of Recte again...wouldn't wish that on my enemy.

Just giving you hell, Nigel.

I would guess that Matt would actually be fine with eventually expanding the UMEBA if good GMs are around. He strikes me a sa guy who likes movement in his league [grin]. But like everything else about getting bigger, I would want to get stable for a few seasons before making more adjustments. Ultimately, like all online leagues, really. The fate of the UMEBA is in the hands of the UMEBA GMs. Right now the UMEBA is doing great, and you UMEBA GMs are kind of kicking a little butt. So keep it up, and put pressure on the board. Success is a great breeder of more success.

All I can really say with certainty is that barring success at a level that's hard to imagine, I wouldn't expect the core BBA to ever get any bigger at this point.
