Another Big Announcement!

Post by recte44 » Thu Jul 18, 2019 7:39 pm

We can now confirm that the Huntsville Phantoms are going home. That's right, following this season the Phantoms are going back to where they came from and they'll be the Chicago Black Sox again.

This did bring up a minor adjustment to the new realignment. Chicago will go to the FL Midwest, and New Orleans will move to the JL Atlantic.

Revision as follows...

Divisional Realignment:

Code: Select all

Atlantic	Frontier	Heartland	Pacific
ATC (JLA)	LV (JLSB)	DM (FLH)	HAW (FLP)
BRK (JLA)	PHX(JLSB)	MAD (FLH)	LBC (FLP)
CCJ (JLA)	SA (JLSB)	OMA (FLH)	SFB (FLP)
RCK (JLA)	MEX (JLSB)	TWC (FLH)	VAL (FLP)
MNT (JLA)	WIC (JLSB)	YS9 (FLH)	CAL (FLP)
NO (JLSE)	BOI (FLF)	LOU (JLSE)	SEA (FLF)
JAX (JLSE)	CLG (FLF)	NSH (JLSE)	VAN (FLF)
CHA (EXP)	EDM (FLP)	CHI (JLSE)	POR (EXP)

Darn, I was looking forward to my lefty hitters padding their stats in Huntsville's t-ball field.

I thought the point was to not have any teams in cities that MLB teams call home?

I don't want to speak for Matt, but I believe the BBA historical connection here factored in.

If it helps any, they’ll be called the Chicago Black Sox, but they’ll actually be located in Calumet City, a southern suburb on the Indiana border near Hammond. Vinnie already has a nice plot of land near an Interstate exit and the zoning has been fixed ... er, obtained. In fact, no reason they couldn’t be called the Cal City Black Sox, if we want to stay away from cities that already have MLB teams.

I like Chicago ... but ever since you said Calumet City, I've found myself thinking that's kinda cool.

The new Frontier Division is going to be super-tough right away, too. But if there's anything this season is saying it's that things can change pretty quick.
