2035 Rule Change:Minor Leagues, Feeder Leagues and the Draft

Post by recte44 » Fri Jun 08, 2018 8:14 am

In order to try and avoid the ammys going to Free Agency and line our Minors and Feeders up correctly, the following changes are in effect immediately.

AAA: Now 144 game season, beginning April 1st
AA: Now 140 game season, beginning April 1st
A: Now 140 game season, beginning April 1st
Short A: Now 76 game season, beginning June 20th
Rookie: Now 68 game season, beginning June 20th

College: Now 50 game season, beginning April 1st (min age 18, max age 22)
High School and IFA: Now 40 game season, beginning April 1st (min age 15, max age 18)

DRAFT: Now held on June 5th annually
Eligibility: College (1 year prior to max age)

With that- compensation picks will be awarded up until Opening Day instead of until the Preseason Sim moving forward.

I'm on board with anything that make the game less wonky, but not drafting high school players seems weird.

I'm still a little bit of a noob; I'm confused. Do you mean no high schoolers or IFAs that are over 18? OOTPou shows high schoolers and IFAs still.

I think this means that High Schoolers are eligible upon graduation, but once they go to college they will not be eligible until their year 21 and 22 seasons.

Is that "No high school and IFA at max age" or "No , high school and IFA at max age" ? There is difference with or without the comma

FOr college and high schools, I think it means:

High School Players:
(Includes "High School All-Star Teams" and "International Finishing Academy") ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Age 15 - high school freshman (not eligible)
Age 16 - High school sophomore (not eligible)
Age 17 - High school junior (not eligible)
Age 18 - High school senior (eligible for draft)

College Players:
(Includes players not drafted from high school, plus others?)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Age 19 - Collece freshman (not eligible)
Age 20 - College sophomore (not eligible)
Age 21 - College junior (eligible for draft)
Age 22 - College senior (eligible for draft)

IFA:
Includes players created for IFA (***)
------------------------------------------
Will inly be 18?

(***) Part of the issue might be that I don't think our IFA players come from the International finishing Academy. I think they get created on the spot. Maybe I'm wrong?

If our created IFA’s did come from the International Finishing Academy wouldn’t they have Stats already?

That's among the reasons I suggest that they don't. But I'm no expert in IFA.
