GM Change, Baltimore Monarchs

Post by recte44 » Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:26 am

Nick Verhoeven had a busy, busy stretch at work and kind of disappeared on us. I have talked to him recently, and he was intending on stepping down at the end of the season hopefully to come back in the future.

To replace Nick as the Monarchs GM is Steve Meyers (SteveM-A2). Steve is in another league with Kyle and was in another league with me as well, so he comes with good credentials.

We look forward to seeing what Steve will do with the now floundering Monarchs.

The JLA just got real, real interesting with these two new GM's, I think.

Nick was mentioning this possibility after he won the title anyway. Rebuilding is tough work. (I should know. :))

Welcome Steve ! I hope you can finally push Baltimore over the top ! Many of us have tried to make the Monarchs a championship franchise but they always (OK, nearly) fail at the last. One Championship for all their Division titles is not the best record. Good luck adding a few more rings

Certainly an impressive array of welcome messages. I thank you all for taking the time to post!

I'm wrapping up a vacation with internet just powerful enough to send emails (ootp... out of the question) but will get to work on the Monarchs on Friday once we're back home. Looking forward to being in the league and I promise.....no more PEBA articles!! lol

For Nick.....I'm on it, man. Great to have the previous GM pass the torch and I'll do my best to take what you've achieved and let's see what we can make happen from here going forward. I'm not expecting anything to come easy in this league but that's one of the components of a great league like MBWBA League, a strong core of talented GM's. Like all of us I enjoy winning, but more important than the W's is competing in an active, dynamic, and well managed league environment.

As mentioned I'll start to have more of a league presence at the end of the week. Thanks!

Steve - Monarchs
