There is no offseason for Moscow’s highly regarded content creator Kerry Kirilenko. Let’s listen in as he continues his ongoing coverage for the Thunder Bears here in early December:
Good evening Moscow diehards! Yes I bet you are still getting over that crushing Grand Slam Cup loss to London. Me too, still feeling it every day. But the pain is starting to subside as we progress into this offseason. And we’ve had some good news recently to celebrate.
First, interim GM Mike Bauer announced that he will pull double-duty with Boise and Moscow and stay on as long as needed until the next suitable GM for Moscow can be hired. This is fantastic news as it’s assured the team will not fall into disarray. I’m not expecting a lot of big moves this offseason, and my sources indicate that we want to keep the core of this group together and run it back. LF Godofredo Chucha is now a free agent and is the only big departure from the 2064 team. But there’s some other talented outfielders that are ready to come up and contribute. Specifically, it’s probably time for OF Nazir Daulat Khel to finally make his Moscow debut in 2065. Our former 2061 first round pick has been playing very solid ball in AAA and its high time he’s elevated to the majors. With Chucha now gone, there’s finally a spot.
Now over to the pitching side. It’s hard to find one single player more instrumental to this team’s ongoing success than closer Riyadi “Sub-Zero” Subandrio. With 50 saves in 2064, he was a big part so many wins yet again. He just entered his final year of arbitration, and Bauer wasted no time negotiating a big extension with our flamethrower. The two sides agreed almost immediately on a lucrative 3-year deal that will pay Sub-Zero 30.7 million over the next 3 years. That third year is a player option, so let’s cheer hard and make sure we do everything we can do to make sure he stays as long as possible! With Sub-Zero still only 22, this is a big signing to celebrate. It’s possible this guy gets even better as he heads into his mid 20’s! That would be scary for GBC hitters for sure!
Down on the farm, Moscow is well stocked and ready to roll. The bad news may be that we could lose some players to Rule V selection. Here’s hoping we protect the right players to keep that from hurting us too bad. Let’s see what happens here in a few weeks. Have a have great holiday season and keep the Thunder rolling!

Sub Zero is already a legend in Moscow. Love that the nickname you have given him fits the locale so well. Sub Zero indeed!
