Riyadh feel that they’ve signed a genuine rotation addition
On November 30th Riyadh reached agreement with 26-yr-old Romeu Tameiro on a 3-year $30.5m contract offer. Tameiro has been playing in the BBA for the last five years for Chicago where in 105 starts he has compiled a record of 41-25 with a career ERA of 3.93 as well as appearing in the post season four out of the last five years for the Black Sox. Not as successful there, going 0-2 in four starts, but he managed an ERA of only 3.63 in those games. Still, not something he will have to deal with while playing for the Red Crescents.

Tameiro could be the great hope of Riyadh's recovery
His last two years have admittedly seen him only make nine BBA starts after a Shoulder Inflammation cost him over six months on the IL. He has though made 43 starts in Triple-A where his record has been 30-6 with his ERA sinking below 3.00 at 2.80. His 406 strikeouts in 547 BBA innings pitched coupled with his 227 he managed in 286 Triple-A gives Riyadh some hope that he could possibly be a good strikeout pitcher in the UMEBA.
We did somehow manage to slip up with his contract when he sneaked in a first year opt-out clause not spotted by any of our lawyers. We successfully added in a vesting option in his third year when he will be 29-yrs-old, but we weren’t too bothered about having two option years given his younger age. The opt-out clause was a bit of a blow, and we’ve got to cross everything hoping that the mistake doesn’t come back to bite us.
