Cairo Chronicles 2057.05: Rudderless

The Pharaoh's find themselves once again without a GM.

A fanbase not impressed by the 55-69 record under Brandon Slouck now wonder who will follow in his footsteps. And wonder why the BBA even gave him a call?

"He goes from a team that won it all in 2055 to a team that won it all in 2056," one anonymous fan belly ached.

"He changed a lot and it wasn't for the better. There had to be better candidates than this guys. You see he self reported an illegal contract that somehow slipped through the cracks of BBA brass? The GM (Brett Golden) before pulled the wool over the leagues eyes and this idiot comes in and takes the wool off. No wonder he's a champion and we had a chump."

Cairo is in for a bit of a rebuild but it's not all Brandon Slouck's fault. He took over a team on the downslide that had a mess in the minors with players all over the system playing at levels they weren't ready for. Some of these top prospects may have been saved by him pulling them back some and actually letting them develop.

He also re-signed Blair Peyton, keeping him in Cairo another 2 years. There's debate on if that was the right move considering how much cap he takes up and some BBA GM's weren't happy about it.

A brief, not so successful era of Cairo baseball comes to an end. The fanbase now hopes someone comes in, stays a bit, and returns Cairo to their former glory.
