Cairo Chronicles 2057.02: Last Draft 2057 BBS

Prior to the GM change in Cairo, the 2057 Draft took place. A chance to have the future stars of the GBC to start their careers. This particular draft was light on stars. That's putting it generously. Very generously.

Cairo had 2 1st round picks and, well, it wasn't a good year to have 2 first round picks.

With the 8th overall pick, Akahele Wikoli. He projects to be a really below average player. His best tools are his average range out in the field and some average power. But he doesn't look like a player who will hit enough to even achieve that power.

Picking again at 11th overall, Wayne Voigt. He projects to be a really below average player. His best tools are his average range out in the field and some average power. But he doesn't look like a player who ... well by now you get the picture.

These picks were only worth covering because of their draft status. We won't dive any deeper into the other draftees. It's tragic.

Both are only 17 so they have plenty of time to change their fortunes. But with 20/80 potentials and free agents with better outlooks, they'll have to find ways to perform to even have the chance to show improvements.

With new GM on the way, it's tough to know what direction the franchise will go and how they fit into those plans.
