Cairo Weekly In-Deqson Report 18 (2055.21)

Post by Krathan » Tue Jul 18, 2023 10:31 am

The Pharaohs had a better week on the field, winning 4 and losing 3. They finished July with a record of 11-14 for the month but lost 2 of the first 3 in London. They are hoping to win the final game of that series as the Monarchs are the team they are tied with in the standings in the battle for the second playoff spot.

Good news from this week on the field. Guruvayur Vashisth pitched very well in both of his starts this week. Having Vashisth back as the ace of this staff is something the ball club really needs down the stretch if they want to reach their goals.George Collins was spectacular this past week. He went 14 for 28 with 4 HR and 10 RBI.

In other news, it appears that there will be a change on the field in the next week. Brynjar Nerdal has been the starting 2B all season. He has been serviceable but unspectacular, putting up just 0.4 WAR in 101 games. The word is that he will be replaced by a new acquisition by next Wednesday. We are hearing that Jose “Tiny Bubbles” Rodriguez will be joining the club soon to take over as the starting 2B. Rodriguez has played with London and Burma’s Aires this season, appearing in 89 games. He has 32 XBH and 1.4 WAR in his two stops so far this season. While his defense is a slight downgrade from Nerdal, the team is hoping the uptick in offensive production will help push the team through the remainder of the campaign.
