In April, 24-year old pitcher Tony Lamplough was named the #10 prospect in the GBC. The Cairo management seems to feel that he has the potential to become a member of the rotation at some point. He started the year in the bullpen and got off to an excellent start. Lamplough struggled in June but looked better in his first two appearances in July before leaving the game on the 14th with an apparent injury. After tests were completed, it was announced that Lamplough was done for the season. Unfortunately, he has a torn labrum and will now have to focus on his recovery and preparing for next season.
In other injury news, Guruvayur Vashisth, who was fantastic prior to being sidelined with shoulder inflammation, is finally ready to return to the club. The team hopes that he is able to regain his form quickly.
As for wins and losses, the Pharaohs won 2 and lost 4 this week, dropping 4 games behind Athens on the year, only 2 games ahead of London.
