The Pharaohs began the week by salvaging the final game of the series against Tokyo thanks to a well pitched game by Grigore Balas. That was filled by a three game sweep of Buenos Aires in which Cairo outscored the Brisas 30-8. After a day off, Cairo traveled to London where they were stomped by the Momarchs in the first two games of that series. They will start a 4 game series with Sydney on July 11.
In other news, we will take a quick look at the first two players drafted by the Pharaohs this year. 17-year old 1B John Lauzon only has a .235 average in his first 26 games in Rookie ball, but he has walked 11 times, scored 11 runs, has 6 extra base hits, and has driven in 12 runs. Their second pick, 17-year old LF Jackson Ackerman has gotten off to a more impressive start. He has also played 26 games, but is slashing .329/.407/.514 with 3 HR and 16 RBI.
