TOK @ BUA
Game 1 – TOK 3 BUA 7
A solid performance against a stubborn Pearls team, with starter Antonio Ramirez striking out 4 in 5.1 innings. He's given up no more than 2 earned runs all season, with is ERA now sitting at 3.04. There are multi-hit days for Enrique Hernandez, Andrew MacColl and Tyler Shacklady.

Game 2 – TOK 15 BUA 9
A game of high offense, as starter Juan Guzman gives up 5 runs for the second game running. He is finding his spot in the rotation rather precarious, with his ERA ballooning in excess of 6.00. It’s a bad day all round for Brisas pitchers, who give up four home runs on the day.

Game 3 – TOK 4 BUA 5

Buenos Aires comes from 4-2 down with a 3-run 7th inning to secure a tough series win. Andrew MacColl has his third multi-hit game in a row, including an RBI double in that 7th inning. Starter Richard Balgera strikes out 4 and gives up 3 earned runs in another impressive 7.0 innings of work.

BUA @ SYD
Game 1 – BUA 2 SYD 0
A comprehensive victory as the Brisas pitchers hold the Sharks to just 2 hits. Gary Robertson goes 4-4, while Mark Moon brings home the game’s only runs with a 2-run single in the 3rd. Ferede Keohi continues his impressive rookie season with 6.1 scoreless innings.

Game 2 – BUA 3 SYD 9
A tight game falls apart for the Brisas in the 7th, as the bullpen gives up 6 runs. On offense, Cesar Torres has to leave the game after being injured making a slide into third. After fears he had sustained a recurrence of the same oblique injury that held him out for the first couple of weeks, this is diagnosed as a strained rib-cage muscle. He should be day-to-day for about a week.

Game 3 – BUA 4 SYD 6

Another tight game that ends in late defeat for the Brisas, as David bin Adnan gives up the pivotal 2-run double in the 8th with the game tied 4-4. Isacco Aglietti and Andrew MacColl each hit their 3rd home run of the season to move into a 4-way tie for the team lead.

The Week in Review

It’s a split week for the Brisas, and while they will be disappointed to lose out in their second series with the Sharks, they will be more than happy to be in the mix as the GBC moves into its second month. This is all in spite of the lowest runs scored in the GBC and a 0 run differential, which in itself is in spite of sitting 2nd in team batting average and a league-average OBP.

“It’s been quite peculiar really. We don’t seem to have much problem hitting the ball, the baseball gods are just making it difficult for us to bring ‘em home” commented Swain. “We just need to turn some of these singles into doubles really”.

Luckily time is on the Brisas’ side, and they are still riding off the back of excellent defense as well. With plenty of cap room to play with, look for Swain to be active over the coming weeks.
