2057 Brisas Watch - Sim #3 review

BUA @ CAI
Game 1 – BUA 9 CAI 6
A game of high offense ends with the Brisas coming out on top, as the teams share over 30 hits between them. There were big games for Mark Moon, who went 4-5 with a double, and Chad Edwards, who went 3-4 and drove home three, including a 2-run home run. Starter Richard Balgera crucially braved out 6.0 innings, saving the bullpen just as the Pharaohs were beginning to mount a comeback.

Game 2 – BUA 4 CAI 3
It’s another come-from-behind win for the Brisas, as they overcome a 3-0 deficit after the 5th inning. Andrew MacColl goes 4-5, while starter Ferede Keohi struck out 5 in just over six innings.

Game 3 – BUA 3 CAI 6
Not quite a sweep for the Brisas, who are now the victims of a comeback having found themselves 3-1 ahead at the top of the 8th. Reliever Arsenio Lambrinos was charged with the loss, having given up 5 runs in just 0.2 innings when he came in for the bottom of the 8th.

JER @ BUA
Game 1 – JER 4 BUA 7
Another big game for MacColl, who goes 3-5 including a double and an RBI. Cesar Torres continues his comeback from injury, hitting a solo home run off former Brisa Darren Asseldonk.

Game 2 – JER 9 BUA 2
A bright start for the Brisas quickly turns sour. Despite a 2-run homer from Benjamin Chapman, things go south around the middle of the game as both starter [urlhttps://statsplus.net/brewster/reports/news/html/players/player_52931.html]Juan Guzman[/url] and reliever Dani Martinez get rocked for 4 runs each.

Game 3 – JER 3 BUA 4
A tighter game sees the Brisas come out on top, thanks in part to Torres’ third home run of the season – a 2-run shot in the first. Another solid start for Balgera, who strikes out 6 in 5.0 innings – he’s pitching much better than his 6.05 ERA implies, as is noted by his 2.29 FIP.

The Week in Review
The Brisas’ strong start to the season continues as they secure not just another winning week, but back-to-back winning series for the first time in 2057. They now sit 2nd place in the GBC at 12-7, despite a run differential of just +1. Not the GM Swain will be complaining, as he looks to improve on their sub-.500 record from last season.

The return of Cesar Torres to the lineup will provide the Brisas with a lot of confidence going forward, as he immediately jumps to the team lead in home runs despite only being activated this week. His form will hopefully spark the offence into life, as they try to keep pace with the Sharks out front.

The Brisas start revisiting opponents from next week, starting with a rematch over the Pilots, who they are currently 2-1 down to in their season series. They then face the London Monarchs for the first time this season.
