CAI @ BUA
Game 1 – CAI 5 BUA 4 (10)
The Brisas lose out in another close game, losing out in extras. César Torres goes 4-5 with two doubles, while Cris Martinez continues his hot streak with yet another home run. Marvin Winston strikes out 7 in 7 innings, while young closer Baz Badr gives up the game-winning run in the top of the 10th with a bases-loaded wild pitch.

Game 2 – CAI 2 BUA 1
Another game of low offense for the Brisas, only putting up four hits all game. Israeli starter David bin Adnan’s audition for an expanded role in 2057 goes well, striking out 8 in just 5.1 innings.

Game 3 – CAI 4 BUA 2
It’s a tail as old as time for the Brisas, whose offense splutters for just two runs all game to concede the sweep. It’s another impressive start for Evgeny Daibov, who will surely be pushing for a permanent spot in the rotation next season. He strikes out 6 and gives up just one run, giving him an ERA of 1.86 in 19.1 innings of September action.

LON @ BUA
Game 1 – LON 3 BUA 4
The Brisas inflict defeat on the now-eliminated London Monarchs. Darren Asseldonk leaves the game early with a suspected abdominal injury – his stint with the Brisas likely comes to an end. Corner infielders Talbot Purcell and Kozma Gizikis both go 2-4, with the latter hitting two doubles.

Game 2 – LON 3 BUA 4 (11)
Another 4-5 day for César Torres, including his 27th home run of the season. Catcher Miguel Hernandez also puts up a multi-hit day, while starter António Ramírez’s quest for a sub-3.00 ERA comes up just short as he goes 5.0 innings of 3-run ball, slightly increasing his mark for the season but still leads the league with a 3.09 ERA.

Game 3 – LON 3 BUA 1
The final game of the season ends in a disappointing defeat, as the Brisas only put up 1 run off 7 hits, with the only run coming off a José Carlos single. Marvin Winston’s final start of the season is a quality one, though he does walk 3 and strike out just 4 in his 6.0 innings.

The week in review
It’s a disappointing end to the season for the Brisas, as their offensive woes end up costing them 5th place in the GBC to the charging Tokyo Pearls. Buenos Aires ends the season 78-84, and though it may be an improvement of 12 games over last season, Swain will be reflecting on a 20-30 record in his stint which has cost them.

While the offense was anemic and propping up the league in many stats, the pitching was among the best in the league, and with impressive outings from Evgeny Daibov and David bin Adnan, the Brisas will be hoping that they are the heirs apparent to Marvin Winston and Darren Asseldonk.

For GM Swain, while the action on the field comes to an end, the action off it will roll on, as he is now tasked with building to a team to take the Argentine capital back to the postseason.
