Buenos Aires Brisas 26 31 .456 GB: 10 L10: 7-3 Strk:W2

Amidst all the rumors swirling around the GM's office, we'll help keep things normal for our readers. The Brisas had yet another solid Sim. They went 4-2 and it seems things are coming together. Having Talbot Purcell back from energy has urged the offense to be more productive. If the pitching and defense stay at the level we may see the Brisas in the top half of the GBC standings at the end of the year.

@ Cairo 3-1 W
@ Cairo 6-3 W

Beunos Aires traveled to Cairo over last weekend for a 2-game set. The Brisas actually swept an opponent (ok it was 2 games, but still) taking both games here. In the first game, it didn't matter what the offense did because SP Marvin 'Groucho' Winston was that good. He went 8 innings and allowed 9 hits, but just 1 run and 3 K's with no walks. CL You-cheng Hang turned in a clean sweep of the 9th inning. The offense was nice enough to spot Winston a 3-0 before he took the mound. The next night the offense did the same with 2 runs in the 1st inning. Cairo started an outburst scoring 3 runs in the 8th. But it was 6-0 before that inning and the bullpen put the finishing touches on the contest. SP Deron Alexander got the win going 5 innings allowing no runs and 1 walk while fanning 4. Hang did his job yet again and salted away the final inning.

Athens 6-1 W
Athens 4-12 L
Athens 3-5 L
Athens 4-1 W

SP António Ramírez took the hill in the first of a 4-game homestand against Athens and was spotless. In 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 hits, 1 run, and 2 walks while striking out 6. The pen escorted the game into the W column with the offense scoring 6 runs. As for the 2nd game, it was again P Richard Balgera and P Bani Marita who added the drama...well, there is no drama in a 12-4 loss. Still, the future of both Balgera and Marita is cloudy as both were already dropped out of the rotation due to bad performance.

The 3rd game was an L for the Brisas. It just looked a little better with just a 2-run defeat. Purcell went 3 for 5 with an RBI and is hitting .368 since returning to Buenos Aires. The finale needed to be won for the Brisas to avoid another losing series. SP Marvin 'Groucho' Winston went 5.1 innings allowing only 5 hits and 1 run over 5.1 innings. You-cheng Hang held put the game on lock in the bottom of the 9th and the Brisas split the 4-game series with Athens.
