GM Ben Teague Announces a Handful of FA Contracts
31yo P Marvin Winston
55 G, 9 GS, 116.1 IP, 4.49 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, +1.8 WAR
Perhaps signaling that Buenos Aires has wrapped up their offseason plans, GM Ben Teague announced a series of trades finalized today. The Brisas added not one but two more pitchers in this batch of signees:
31yo SP Marvin Winston - Winston is as much a GBC & BBA journeyman as any other player. The list of places he has called home over 12 years is long, but he spent all of 2055 at Tokyo. He was excellent in a relief role, though the Brisas may try to stretch him out again as a starter.
29yo SP António Ramírez
32 G, 32 GS, 187.2 IP, 4.32 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, +2.4 WAR
Ramírez decided to test free agency and the "invisible hand" led him right back to Argentina. Good thing, too, for the Brisas. Getting over +2.0 WAR from a SP? Yeah, that'll fly.
Also signed to minor league contracts are: 33yo 2B Reilly Eddy , 32yo C Miguel Hernández, 30yo SS Aaron Comyn, and 2B Per Bakhuis. Infield utility and an excellent defensive catcher.
