Una brisa asquerosa?

Post by RT60 » Thu May 26, 2022 8:16 am

Excerpt from the Buenos Aires Times 1/26/2051:

All of Argentina rejoiced when they heard about Tripoli's move to Buenos Aires. A solid team with a legitimate shot at a title. According to the Mayor of Buenos Aires, Johnny Rico, the city is still cleaning up from the endless off-season street parties. The celebrations continued after the news of the signing of new GM Brian Pinnell, even though this reporter could not find anyone who knew anything about him. Those celebrations might be ending soon given what has come to light only just yesterday.

One of the staff in the organization, speaking on the condition of anonymity, has revealed that the new GM knows nothing about baseball and doesn't even speak Spanish. The unidentified staff member went on to suggest that Mr. Pinnell was only hired because owner Tariq bin Habib wants to increase efficiencies in the organization.

According to Brisas manager Stelio Kontos, "GM sat me down in his office his first day and literally asked me "what would you say you do here" to which I could not find a proper answer given how surprised I was at the question. He also asked for a TPS report, whatever that is. Then he starts fiddling with my lineups and depth charts! I almost led this team to glory last year and this is the treatment I get?"

There indeed seems to be a foul breeze blowing through Buenos Aires this evening. The team has indicated that a press conference to address the concerns will be scheduled soon. The new GM is expected to attend.

Apparently the Mayor also runs a pest control company on the side and told the new GM that he hopes his descendants also "kill bugs good." He then started to spout a crazy conspiracy theory about a war with bugs in the future and that he feels Buenos Aires will be particularly affected. Like that will ever happen!

Well, this should be a continuing fun read. Looking forward to it.
